Pay delay affects Lions' morale
DEFENDER Chris Innes admitted today that yet another delay in players' wages has meant Livingston's preparations for this weekend's clash with Airdrie Utd have been far from ideal.
The Lions, who currently sit in third place in the First Division, take on bottom-of-the-table Diamonds at Almondvale this weekend. However, as has happened on a number of occasions this season, the club's players have not received their monthly wages.
Innes said that manager Paul Hegarty has assured his players they will be paid – eventually.
They've been told they'll be paid on Monday and Innes insisted that he and his team-mates simply have to get on with their jobs: "The problems are well-publicised but it's out with my control.
"It's in the manager's hands. The captain, James McPake, has spoken on behalf of the players so, hopefully, it will get resolved sooner rather than later. The manager has assured us it'll get sorted out."
Meanwhile, the Lions have been linked with a move for former Celtic striker Mark Burchill, who is currently at Rotherham.
