Partick Thistle 1 - 1 Ross County: Important point for County

JACKIE McNamara had to be content with a draw in his first match as caretaker Jags boss.

However, this point may prove more significant to County in their battle to beat the drop.

Thistle grabbed an early lead in fortuitous circumstances when a harmless ball into the box struck Steven Craig's arm and Kris Doolan scored from the resultant penalty. County's Michael Gardyne and Andy Barrowman saw shots blocked before the Staggies got their reward with a deserved equaliser.

Alan Archibald was penalised for a push on Barrowman and Paul Lawson curled an unstoppable 20 yard free kick high into the net.

Thistle responded when youngster Jamie Campbell's well-struck left-foot shot grazed the edge of an upright with Michael McGovern beaten.

County went close at the start of the second half through substitute Jason Marr whose rising shot was just too high and Doolan twice went close to claiming the win for Partick but it finished level.
