Triples to battle for title in Glasgow

BOWLS: The National Bowls Scotland Two Bowl Triples Championship heads to the St Vincent club in Glasgow this weekend for the fifth staging of the event, which has previously been held at the Bainfield club in Edinburgh.

Thirty of the country’s 32 districts will be represented, with the host club lining up as favourites to take the title.

Louise Clark will be skipping Susan Hutchinson and Lynn Lamont in their opening match against the West Lothian team of Dianne Rarity, Sandra Steven and Kirsteen McLelland from Uphall Station. Either Polton or Ladybank wait for the winners in the second round.

A new winner is guaranteed as no former champions have qualified for the knockout stages. First and second rounds are today with quarters, semis and final tomorrow.
