Tipperlinn ace Johnstone gears up for Mackintosh clash

The finals of the Edinburgh Women’s Bowling Championships take place at Whitehouse & Grange tomorrow afternoon (1.30pm), with the headline clash featuring 
defending champion Shona 
Johnstone of the Tipperlinn club against Rosemary Mackintosh of London Road Foundry (LRF) in the Singles.

Margaret McShane and 
Hilda Melrose of Sighthill face a tough test when they line up against Zandra Kinnear and Rita Reid of Goldenacre in the Pairs, while it’s Barbara Winwick, Davina Patrizio, and Ann Gordon of Maitland against Bette Littlejohn, Ann Davidson, and Laura Ross of Leith in the Triples. Balerno, who are 
already winners of the Top Ten 
title, send out Essie 
Stoddart, Doris Kergan, 
Elspeth Oliver and Ruth 
Vasey against Dorothy Hunter, 
Mary Hay, Pat Turner and Margaret Murray of LRF in the Fours.
