Shinty: Kyles have their sights set on cup

KYLES wing centre Robbie MacLeod believes the Tighnabruaich side can lift this year’s Camanachd Cup after booking their semi-final place.

Norman Macdonald’s men travelled to Portree on Friday night ahead of Saturday’s quarter-final with Skye and the preparation paid off with an excellent 5-2 victory against the 1990 winners.

MacLeod explained: “We are joint top of the Premiership and we are in the last four of the Camanachd Cup. Can we do it? I think we can.”

Iain Nicholson and Jordan Murchison netted for Skye but Kyles were too strong with Roddy MacDonald, John Whyte, Thomas Whyte, Dunkie Kerr and Fraser MacDonald scoring.

Inveraray are also in the last four after beating Kilmallie 2-3 while Kinlochshiel defeated Lovat 3-1 to book their place.
