Shiel net big win as Celtic Society Cup final is off
SHINTY: The postponed AJG Parcels Celtic Society Cup final between Inveraray and Taynuilt has been re-arranged for this Saturday.
The 108th final was due to take place at Strachur at the weekend but had to be called off due to flooding.
Elsewhere, Kinlochshiel recorded a famous victory in the Camanachd Cup.
The Wester Ross outfit, who only entered the top flight this term, defeated Kingussie 5-3 after extra time to book a tie with Lovat.
MacRaes were to the fore, with Duncan, Keith (2) and John all netting along with Gordie MacDonald.
Manager Johnstone Gill knows Lovat will be a tough obstacle but is not ruling out an extended run in shinty’s major competition.
“Lovat have done really well this season and have had some great results but there is no reason for us to approach these games with any fear at all. We have drawn with them this season, after we got a man sent off, so we can certainly compete.”
