Scots on course
to win qualifiers

BOWLS: With only two rounds of qualifying matches remaining for the second qualifying phase of the world outdoor championships in Adelaide, Scotland head the leaderboard in three of the four disciplines.

After their opening draw against Australia, Scots Alex Marshall and Paul Foster still remain unbeaten and go into today’s concluding two rounds against Thailand and Fiji two points clear of Australia.

David Peacock, Darren Burnett and Graeme Archer are in pole position in their triples section, only one point ahead of Japan, two ahead of Ireland.

The women’s rink of Michelle Cooper, Lyn Stein, Caroline Brown and Margaret Letham have only dropped one point over their opening nine matches. They hold a one point advantage at the top, ahead of Malaysia.
