Family values for Marshall brothers

BOWLS: A family double could be on the cards for the renowned Marshall brothers after both secured places in today’s quarter-finals of the Bowls Scotland National Championships at Ayr Northfield.

Alex, along with club-mate David Sked, did the business against Condorrat and now face a clash against Abbeyview’s John and Steven Miller.

Robert fought off West Lothian singles champion Ewan Shearer from Bo’ness 21-15 and now clashes with Kevin Anderson from Dumbarton.

Also in the blue riband singles field in draw order are Kevin Bain from Hyndland, who faces Stenhousemuire’s Stuart Williamson, Hillside’s Cary Muir who meets Dalzell’s John Simpson and Kelso’s Alistair White who takes on Bowls Scotland District secretary Iain McLelland from Dumfries.
