Bowls: Scots set up decider against England

Defending champions Scotland produced a grandstand finish in their second match of the men’s Home International Series at Stanley, County Durham, last night, scoring 42 shots to 24 against Wales over the last quarter of their match to chalk up a 114-96 victory.

That result sees them go head to head against England tonight in the title decider.

Paul Foster’s rink of Wayne Hogg, Callum Logan and Scott Kennedy were again top scorers, finishing 24-11 ahead of Steven Harris, with further single-figure wins coming courtesy of Alex Marshall, Colin Walker and Derek Oliver. Darren Burnett lost to Jon Tomlinson 11-19 and Robert Grant lost 21-23 to Ross Tomlinson.

England won 121-84 against Ireland to leave them with four points and 79 shots, while Scotland are also unbeaten, but with only have 31 shots,
