The Scottish men’s basketball league tips off tomorrow with a tasty derby between Boroughmuir Blaze and champions Edinburgh Kings at the Crags Sports Centre (2.20pm).

Blaze, who gave several of the more fancied teams a good run for their money last season, could be significantly stronger this term with the addition of two former Peregrines Rob Jansson, who played for Stirling Knights  last year, and Pete Lyons, a former Kings junior.

Another former Kings player, Liam McCabe, has also joined their ranks.

Kings have Garreth Lodge back after the Scotland guard took a year out but they will be without the versatile Edgars Rekis tomorrow as the Latvian star is on his honeymoon with new bride Elana.
