Reitvelt takes top spot at Danderhall

BASKETBALL: Matt Rietvelt (Paradykes Primary School) won the top boys’ award and twins Mill and Roko Bolatiki (Mauricewood Primary School) shared the girls’ trophy at the first Midlothian Active Schools Primary Basketball Festival at Danderhall Leisure Centre.

The event was such a success that a follow-up session has been arranged for 14 March. Twelve primary schools took part in the event that is part of Basketballscotland’s talent search in Midlothian.

The primary schools that took part in the first Festival were Bonnyrigg, Danderhall, King’s Park, Lasswade, Mauricewood, Paradykes, Loanhead, Mayfield, St David’s, St Mary’s, St Matthew’s and Hawthornden.
