Basketball: Tough test for Students

Ahead of their vital home game against fellow relegation battlers Sheffeld Hallam at the Pleasance on Wednesday,

Edinburgh University women took some comfort from their 78-65 defeat away to Durham in the Northern Premier Division of the British Universities Basketball Championship.

Durham are unbeaten at the top of the division and are likely to be at full strength to greet their Scottish visitors.

But Edinburgh know that their task to win by 19 points on Wednesday is still a formidable one especially as Sheffield will probably include their Great Britain cap Helen Naylor, whose mother Des once played in Scotland for MIM and had Scottish qualifications.
