O’Hanlon keen on return to pro game

FORMER Hibs defender Sean O’Hanlon is hoping he’ll be back playing full-time football again in the New Year despite finding himself in the Junior ranks in a bid to keep fit.

The Irishman turned out for Bonnyrigg, where he stays, as a trialist in Saturday’s game against Linlithgow and isn’t ruling out some more appearances for Max Christie’s side as he waits to find a new club.

He’s a free agent after leaving Hibs by mutual consent at the end of August and is hoping his services will be snapped up when clubs look to make changes during the January transfer window.

“I’ve not played a competitive game since I left Hibs, so it was nice to get out there to try and help Bonnyrigg,” said O’Hanlon. “I’m trying to keep fit so I’ve been training with Bonnyrigg, where I live, for a few weeks now. Linlithgow are a good team so it was a good test for me.”

The former Swindon star added: “I’m still looking for a professional club.

“It’s getting close to January now so there is going to be some movement then and hopefully I’ll be able to get fixed up.”
