BBC chief's pay 'out of step'

THE BBC director general's pay package is seen as "out of step" with the current economic climate and Mark Thompson should set an example and cut what he receives, MPs said today.

The Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee report also asked why the BBC3 channel was not facing the same prospect of closure as radio station 6 Music.
