New managerial duo at Cove
KEVIN Tindal and Jerry O'Driscoll were confirmed as Cove Rangers' new managerial duo as John Sheran signed off in style when Cove came from behind to beat Deveronvale 3-2, title rivals until last weekend.
Tindal, the former Montrose, Arbroath and Peterhead stalwart, is excited by the new role – but first paid tribute to the grit and character of the Sheran era. "The Vale put us under a lot of pressure and deserved to be in front in that first half. But in the second, I think we showed we are worthy champions," he said.
"It was a fitting finish for John, who has been tremendous for Cove Rangers."
An emotional outgoing Sheran reflected: "We would be celebrating today whatever the result, but the win underlines what a great bunch we have here."
Inverurie Locos cemented third place with a crushing 7-1 win over Fort William, confirming the Lochaber side's status as the worst club in Highland League history. Fort have failed to win a league game in either of the last two seasons.
Keith claimed fourth place in the table with a 3-1 win at home to Brora Rangers, with Gary Nicol grabbing a double.
Fraserburgh slipped into seventh place in the table after coming from behind to beat Clach 2-1 in Inverness.
A 3-0 win for Forres Mechanics at Buckie made sure of fifth in the table for Wick Academy, who had already finished their record-breaking campaign.
