Murray beats Montanes in Qatar Open
Andy Murray's made a successful start in his bid to retain the Qatar Open title today as the Dunblane player beat Spain's Albert Montanes 6-2 6-4 in the first round of the tournament.
Murray displayed only fleeting glimpses of the form he showed to beat Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to clinch the World Tennis Championship title in Abu Dhabi last week, but broke his opponent's serve four times in a comfortable victory.
Murray will face Germany's Philipp Petzschner in the next round.
