McNish fourth on grid

SCOT Allan McNish, already crowned American Le Mans Series champion, will start the four-hour season finale at Laguna Seca in California from fourth on the grid in his diesel-powered Audi R10TDI.

The 36-year-old from Dumfries looked on as his Italian partner Dindo Capello set a time of 1min 14.116secs, an average speed of 108.70mph, around the 2.238-mile, 11-turn circuit.
