Morton interview Moore over manager's vacancy
STIRLING Albion manager Allan Moore has revealed he has been interviewed by Morton for the vacant post at Cappielow.
However, the former Hearts and St Johnstone midfielder is adamant he will be in the dugout for Stirling's Second Division clash with Clyde tomorrow as he is still waiting to hear from Morton chairman Douglas Rae despite meeting him a fortnight ago.
Moore, who has taken Albion as high as the First Division after taking over at the helm in 2002 when they were playing in Scottish football's lowest tier, has never hidden his desire to manage a full-time club.
However, the lack of communication from Morton regarding his talks with the club's hierarchy has left him assuming he has been unsuccessful in his bid to be appointed Davie Irons' successor.
He said: "I'm not really interested in Morton at the moment because we have a good chance on Saturday of opening up a gap at the top and I will definitely be in charge of the game against Clyde. The chairman gave me permission to speak to them even though he does not want to lose me. It's a chance to go full-time and I spoke to them, and really that's all that has happened in the last ten days.
"If they come back to me with an offer then I will consider it. I hope it gets sorted out quickly one way or the other."
