BOWLS: While defending champions West Lothian retain pole position in a less-than-competitive Section A in the Jack High Insurance National League, Aberdeen won their fifth-round table-topping clash against Paisley to take a one-point lead at the top of Section B.
West Lothian continue to hold a two-point lead at the top from Falkirk and are six points clear of East Lothian, Bainfield and Midlothian, who are all locked on four points. West Lothian were comfortable away winners over pointless Coatbridge, Falkirk eased past Midlothian 92-58 and East Lothian beat Bainfield 91-69.
In Section B, Aberdeen replace Paisley as the leaders after winning their showdown 87-68 to keep their unbeaten home record intact. Blantyre move up to second alongside Paisley after their 143-41 home win over Perth. In Division 2, Garioch, Portobello and Inverclyde retain pole positions in A, C and E while Arbroath, Stirling and Prestwick are the new leaders in Sections B, D and F.
