DISAPPOINTINGLY omitted from last year’s European Championship team for Helsinki, Chris O’Hare (Edinburgh AC) is poised to make further inroads on the Scottish middle distance ranking lists when he competes in the Wannamaker Mile at the Millrose Games in New York tonight.

O’Hare jumped to sixth on the Scottish all-time list for the 800 metres and third Briton for the season so far in Fayetteville, Arizona last weekend.

The 22-year-old Peebles High FP produced a spectacular finish to come from last to second in an 800m, clocking 1:48.28. O’Hare, will face a formidable array of talent including last year’s winner Matt Centrowitz and former Kenyan star and Wannamaker record-holder Bernard Lagat.
