Mini adventure for Capital starlets
EDINBURGH'S Alexandra Hunter, eight, and Robbie Croall, seven, won the Mini Tennis Red event at Craiglockhart.
Running alongside the Scottish Open at Craiglockhart for the first time over the weekend, the event attracted 22 under-eights from Edinburgh, the Borders, Fife and West Lothian. National coach Ellinore Lightbody attended the event, played with miniature rackets and foam balls, to identify future talent. Alexandra and Robbie are both members of the David Lloyd Club in Edinburgh and part of Craiglockhart Tennis Centre's Performance Programme.
"This is the first time we have held this event alongside the Scottish Open," said Tennis Development Manager Peter Gordon. "It was a huge success and we hope to build on it next year."
