McLeish happy to tap into Collins' advice
HENRY McLeish has encouraged John Collins to get in touch after the former Hibs manager yesterday said football academies for the 14-16 age-group are the way forward for Scottish football.
McLeish, the former First Minister, has almost completed his review of Scottish football, the first part of which is scheduled to be submitted in January.
Collins called for Scotland to follow the French system, where studies are combined with football at custom-built complexes, adding: "The ages 14-16 are big for in football development."
McLeish said: "We have been looking the best practices from a number of European countries. I welcome any contribution from people who are respected and understand the game."
