McInally to face SFA on charge of 'misconduct'

THE SFA last night confirmed that East Stirlingshire manager Jim McInally has been reported to the disciplinary committee for "excessive misconduct" after being sent-off twice at the weekend.

The former Morton manager has been handed an automatic four-game ban following the chaotic scenes during and after Saturday's 1-1 draw with Cowdenbeath that ended Shire's promotion bid.

However, the "ashamed" former Dundee United and Scotland midfielder – who has since apologised for his actions, admitting he was a "disgrace" - now faces further censure after the case was referred to the committee for special attention.

McInally, who was sent to the stand in the first-half for disputing Jamie Stevenson's booking but returned trackside as the First Park men had two players dismissed for disputing Darren McGregor's equalising goal, now faces a further suspension and possible fine if he is found guilty.

An SFA spokesperson said: "Jim McInally has been given an automatic four-match suspension and on top of that the case will be referred to the disciplinary committee as he has been reported for excessive misconduct."
