McGregor will play for Scots if selected

RANGERS goalkeeper Allan McGregor says he is ready and willing to resume his Scotland career – if the new national team manager wants him.

McGregor has not been considered for selection since he and former Ibrox team-mate Barry Ferguson stayed up drinking all night after a World Cup qualifying match earlier this year.

McGregor appears tonight on a new magazine-style football programme about Rangers and Celtic, screened on Gaelic television channel BBC Alba.

Asked if he would play for Scotland again, McGregor says: "If asked, of course I would. I've held my hands up. I don't know how many times I've apologised; I've said sorry and I am sorry. I just need to wait and see if the new gaffer wants me in the squad or not."

The monthly show, called Club TV, will be presented by former players Tom Boyd of Celtic and Arthur Numan of Rangers along with anchor Calum MacAulay.

Features will include exclusive interviews with respective club managers Tony Mowbray and Walter Smith, plus key players from both teams. The first in the new series will be broadcast tonight at 10:30pm and repeated tomorrow at 11:30pm and again on Saturday 28th at 6pm.
