McDougall pays for own transfer
NEW Dunfermline signing Steven McDougall has revealed he paid his own transfer fee to seal his move to the Pars.
The 23-year-old took the unusual step after a row over compensation with former club Airdrie United threatened to scupper the switch.
Dunfermline believed there would be no compensation involved in the move. McDougall has refused to disclose how much he paid to ensure he could pen a two-year deal at East End Park.
He said: "It's a small price to pay and I look on it as an investment in my own career."
