McCormack eyes Berwick job

JOHN McCormack is keen to talk to Berwick Rangers about the vacant manager's position at Shielfield following the departure of Allan McGonigal earlier this week.

Former Dundee and Morton manager McCormack, who left Albion Rovers in June for an ill-fated short spell as assistant to Billy Reid at Hamilton Academical, said: "Football is in my blood and I would love to be working in it again with my own players. Berwick would be a challenge as they have had a difficult couple of years, but everyone knows I am a grafter.

"Once the new owners are in place (at Berwick] on Monday I would love to talk to them about what I can do." Berwick director Jimmy Crease will take the team for today's match at Forfar for the second time in seven months. He will be assisted by player/coach Ian Little. "We'll go to Forfar and show it's not all doom and gloom at Berwick," Crease said. "There's still a lot to play for this season unlike the last time I was involved which was an end of season game."

Stenhousemuir face a team determined to cut their lead at the top of the table when they travel to face a Cowdenbeath side, who know that victory over John Coughlin's men will lift them level on points with the Ochilview team.
