Manager McInally just can't let go
EAST Stirlingshire manager Jim McInally told his players this week that there is nothing to be gained from questioning the performance of referees – and then promptly questioned the performance of referees.
McInally believes his team lost their concentration in Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Annan following some of referee Craig McKay's decisions. The Shire manager spoke out after the match but yesterday tried (and failed) to draw a line under the matter. He said: "I have told the players that we must just focus on the games and we will simply have to take anything we get from referees on the chin. I do genuinely feel there has been bias against us because of my SFA ban, but now has to be the time to call an end to all the publicity surrounding this."
So, that's it. No more criticising the referees, Jim?
"I have said my piece, people know what I think and that should now be the end of it."
But it wasn't the end of it.
"We have an experienced group of players at East Stirling and they cannot believe what has been happening in games," he added. "Some of the decisions have been really strange. All we really want is to be treated fairly, I have made my point and I now want that to be the end of it."
