Man who brought David Beckham to LA leaves
THE man responsible for taking David Beckham to the United States last night left Los Angeles Galaxy in a busy day for the Major League Soccer side.
Alexi Lalas, the former US internationalist who had served as general manager and president of the California team, has been fired after a turbulent season while former Chelsea boss Ruud Gullit has also resigned as head coach.
The Galaxy have failed to win any of their last seven games. However, Gullit cited personal reasons in his decision to quit.
He is succeeded on an interim basis by 37-year-old Cobi Jones.
