Livingston aiming to finish job against Clyde

CLYDE and Livingston will try again tonight to win through to face Dundee after fog saw Saturday's match abandoned after 29 minutes with the Third Division leaders leading their Second Division hosts by an Andrew Halliday goal.

Clyde have a full squad to choose from and John McCormack will be in charge. Director of football Neil Watt said: "We know a bit more about Livingston now and that cannot be a bad thing."

The abandonment has increased Livingston's injured Italian striker Raffele de Vita's chances of playing.

De Vita will have to oust Halliday from the team to start, so a seat on the bench is probably the best the front-man, who scored twice against Queen's Park in the last round, can look forward too. Manager Gary Bollan added: "We know now that we have Dundee waiting in the next round and that is a huge carrot for us to build on what we started doing on Saturday."

Meanwhile, a home tie with Airdrie United awaits the winners of the replay between Peterhead and Raith Rovers at Balmoor after an inspired performance from Blue Toun goalkeeper Paul Jarvie kept the scoreline blank on Saturday. Peterhead manager Neale Cooper said: "Paul was excellent, as was everyone in the team in getting a draw on Saturday. That was a huge result for us, although we will need to battle as hard as we did down there to win through."

Cooper will again be without striker Scott Michie because of a stomach injury, with the Balmoor boss adding: "As you can imagine after battling so hard on Saturday there are a few bumps and bruises, but everyone who was at Kirkcaldy should be available."

Raith could give Kevin Smith a second-time-around starting debut after the on-loan Dundee United front man came off the bench in the first game three days ago. Iain Williamson and Iain Donaldson have been ruled out through injury with another Tannadice on-loan player, Jonny Russell, a doubt to be included.

Spanish youngster Xavier Corredera made an impressive debut on Saturday and he may form a new strike force with Smith with makeshift striker Stephen Simmonds likely to make way.

Kirkcaldy boss John McGlynn said: "We did everything on Saturday but score. This is a very different game as Peterhead are much more dangerous on their own pitch but we will go there with confidence. We know the ground well after our time in the Second Division and know what to expect."
