Livingston home in on title
LIVINGSTON are just two wins away from lifting the title and the SFL's newest club, Annan, could be hosting their second Championship winning party at their Galabank ground next Saturday.
Dumbarton won the title there in Annan's inaugural season, and after defeating Queen's Park 1-0 at Hampden on Saturday Gary Bollan's men are on the brink of taking their first step back to the higher echelons of football after being demoted last summer amid financial turmoil.
Substitute Raffaele De Vita netted ten minutes from time to secure Livi's ninth win in 12 games when he scored from six yards out.
A midweek win at Berwick would set up the opportunity of a title-clinching day some 14 years since Livingston won their only other Third Division title.
Almondvale manager Bollan was only focusing on the Queen's Park game, saying: "It was extremely hard fought and we were not at our best. Queen's Park were the better side in the first half and we were disappointed by that.
"We changed a couple of things around and were better in the second period."
Second-placed East Stirling came from two behind to draw 2-2 at Stranraer,
while Forfar sent Elgin to the foot of the table after a 2-0 success at Borough Briggs and they have the chance to pull within a point of East Stirling, with a game in hand, when they meet tomorrow night at Station Park.
Albion Rovers climbed to fifth place thanks to Marc McCusker's penalty in their 1-0 win over Annan,
while Montrose came off bottom spot for the first time since the fourth game of the season when they drew 1-1 with Berwick Rangers.
