Livi on brink
LIVINGSTON look set to go into administration next week after West Lothian Council rejected their bid to re-negotiate the payment of a £280,000 rent bill, writes Darren Johnstone.
Lions chairman Angelo Massone met council officials on Thursday morning and made it clear the chance of the First Division club honouring the outstanding monies in full by the 30 June deadline are slim. However, the local authority have steadfastly refused to alter the terms of the re-payment plan.
Council leader Peter Johnston confirmed all patience with Massone has ended and said:
"We have bent over backwards to try and help Livingston but enough is enough. If the money is not paid by 30 June then we will start legal proceedings to seek that debt."
