Leith Athletic get their hands on Alex Jack Cup

LEITH Athletic won their first silverware in the East of Scotland ranks when they beat Eyemouth United 2-0 at the Pennypit in Prestonpans to lift the Alex Jack Cup.

Euan Campbell opened the scoring midway through the first half and Mark Wallace sealed their triumph late in the game.

Lothian Thistle moved to within a point of Spartans at the top of the Central Taxis Premier Division when a double from Wayne McIntosh earned them a 2-1 win against Heriot Watt University, whose goalscorer was Erik Thomson.

Edinburgh University also recorded a 2-1 victory over Coldstream with a stoppage-time goal from James Craigen. Substitute Michael Dick had given the University the lead before Craig Tyson equalised.

In the First Division, Craigroyston came from two goals behind to earn a 2-2 draw away to Gala Fairydean. Jamie Gibson and John Waldie gave Gala the advantage before Stevie Manson and Sean Martin scored second-half goals to share the points.

In the SFA South Region Challenge Cup, a Daryl Devlin goal for Whitehill Welfare was enough to beat Civil Service Strollers 1-0.
