Leishman leads Fife charity walk
JIM Leishman will today enlist the help of some footballing friends as part of the first stage of a charity walk of the Fife Coastal Path in memory of his late wife, Mary.
Dundee United manager Craig Levein and his Raith Rovers and East Fife counterparts John McGlynn and Stevie Crawford respectively will undertake the 'Dander for Mary' round the 81 miles of the path in order to raise 60,000 for the Mary Leishman Foundation, set up after Leishman's wife died of cancer on the pair's 30th wedding anniversary in February. Former Dunfermline manager and now director of football at East End Park, Leishman said: "I'm patron of the Fife Coastal Path and Mary and I had planned to walk the route this summer, so I thought it was an appropriate thing to do to raise money for the Foundation.
"There's 36 of us doing the whole route and others are joining us for a day here or there, including Craig Levein, John McGlynn and Stevie Crawford."
Today's leg covers the 19-mile stretch from the Tay Bridge to St Andrews, with further stops at Crail, Lower Largo, Kinghorn and finally the Forth Bridge.
