Laing into La Manga top 10

SCOTLAND'S Vikki Laing moved into the top ten with a round to play after a third day one-under-par 70 over the testing South course at the Ladies' European Tour pre-qualifying school at La Manga in Spain.

The 27-year-old who has played in the US since turning professional five years ago, stood on four over par, was tied for tenth place in the 103-strong field and was one of four Scots within the cut-off mark for next week's final qualifying at the same venue.

With the top 62 to advance, Krystle Caithness, the Curtis Cup player from St Regulus, had a 76 over the shorter North course and was joint 32nd on nine over par, Pamel Feggans was tied for 54th on 13 over following a 76 and Kylie Walker scraped into 61st after a 75 for 14 over.

Dutch amateur Christel Boeljon led the way on seven under par after a magnificent 65 over the North course, two ahead of Paraguay's Julieta Granada.
