Supporters fly the flags for independence

Princes Street Gardens was transformed into a sea of saltires and lion rampant flags as thousands took part in a pro-independence march and rally.

Alex Salmond told the crowd 100,000 people had signed the independence declaration since the Yes campaign launch in May.
