Jimmy Boyle looks for lift after Ayr humbling

Airdrie United manager Jimmy Boyle is looking for a huge improvement from his men against East Fife tonight after his team capitulated in the second half of their game against Ayr United at the weekend and lost five goals.

Boyle said: "We went into the Ayr game on the back of two great results but we are back at square one again. East Fife will be out for revenge after our win at their place recently so we have to get back on the rails quickly."

Airdrie's Craig Hill has been ruled out with a facial injury and Eddie Forrest is a doubt. Euen Grant is suspended following his sending off at the weekend and he will join banned team-mate Keiron Stallard on the sidelines.

East Fife, who are looking for their fourth away win in a row, are also short on numbers with Steven Campbell, Robert Sloan, Jim Hamilton and Ryan Wallace out. Scott Durie could return.

Forfar manager Ian Campbell, whose team host Brechin, knows his side were fortunate to escape from Peterhead with a weekend draw thanks to Ross Campbell's injury-time goal.

He said: "We will need to improve for this one with just one win in the last five games."

David Mowat is fit again for Forfar, while Brechin manager Jim Weir welcomes back Craig Malloy after a ban.

Stenhousemuir face a stern test against Livingston at Ochilview, with the league leaders targeting ten wins in 11 games. However, Livingston will be without injured winger Bobby Barr.
