Jen blown away by support

EDINBURGH’S Jen McIntosh was Britain first gold medal shot at the 2012 games, but she was unable to make the final of the
women’s 10m air rifle.

The 21-year-old, who is the youngest member of the Team GB shooting squad at the Olympic Games, scored 392 to finish 36th out of the 56-strong field, with only the top-eight
progressing into the final.

McIntosh admitted she was blown away by the passionate and vociferous support of the British crowd, saying: “I don’t really have the words yet, it was a pretty incredible atmosphere out there and the support was just fantastic.

“We are not really used to that in our sport but it was just phenomenal and I want to thank everyone that showed support.

“Obviously I would have liked to be in the final but performance wise I thought I handled it really well so you live and learn.”

McIntosh will go again in the 50m rifle 3 positions.
