Italy rest De Rossi in 6-0 warm-up win

ITALY midfielder Daniele De Rossi rested a calf strain during their 6-0 win over local side Gauteng All Stars.

Team doctors said the player only sat out the game as a precaution and should be fit for the World Cup Group F opener against Paraguay in Cape Town on Monday. The world champions won with doubles from Giampaolo Pazzini and Simone Pepe. Vincenzo Iaquinta and Antonio Di Natale also got easy goals.
