Ice Hockey: Family is first for Horne

KYLE HORNE today said goodbye to Edinburgh Capitals by revealing his move back to Fife Flyers was for his family.

And the rugged, 30-year-old ice hockey player added: "I wish them (Capitals] well."

The Great Britain defenceman is a huge signing for the Elite League rookies as he carries bags of top-level experience with him.

And Todd Dutiaume, Flyers' player/coach, is excited at the prospect of Horne being back on the bench.

Horne, 30, jumped ship from Murrayfield after four seasons and he said: "I enjoyed my time at Edinburgh over the last four years and wish them well but this move makes more sense for me as I live five minutes from Kirkcaldy Ice Arena and that makes it easy for games and training.

"Having four teams in Scotland playing in the Elite League is the way forward for the sport here."
