Ice Hockey: Caps bid for Stars' Beca
EDINBURGH CAPITALS have been granted permission by Elite League ice hockey rivals Dundee CCS Stars to talk to the Tayside team's Czech Republic-born forward Michal Beca.
The 26-year-old, who lives in Perth, has appeared in 38 games for Dundee this season and has a goal and an assist to his credit. The re-signing of former Scottish Eagles forward Paddy Lochi means Beca is surplus to requirements at Dundee.
Capitals' owner Scott Neil is desperate to bolster his squad after a mass walkout by foreign players and his team have lost their last 17 games and prop up the league in tenth place with 15 points.
They are five points behind second-bottom Newcastle Vipers, who have played a game more. The pair meet on Tyneside on Saturday.
Dan Ceman, Stars' player/coach, said: "We will release Michal if he can work something out with Edinburgh."
