Ice Hockey: Capitals make bid to bring Hurtubise back to Edinburgh
EDINBURGH CAPITALS have opened talks to bring All-Star ice hockey hitman Mark Hurtubise back to Murrayfield.
The razor-sharp, 24-year-old Canadian topped the squad's statistics with 33 goals and 65 assists in 60 games for the club. Included in the impressive total for the stylish, 6ft 2in, Montreal-born player were 12 power play goals.
A spokesman for Capitals said: "We are determined to make season 2009/10 the best ever. To this end, we have already opened negotiations with Mark Hurtubise regarding a return and we are making a determined effort to secure his services for what will be an exciting season."
Capitals have frozen their season ticket prices for next season and the spokesman told fans: "You have shown your loyalty to us and we will show our loyalty to you by freezing our ticket prices.
"We know only too well that we are living in tough economic times but we are working flat out to secure new sponsors for the club as well as building our relationship with existing ones.
"But it is you, our fans, that will help us get through tough times."
