Iben Tinning bows out with Dubai triumph
Iben Tinning marked her farewell from the Ladies European Tour with victory at the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters.
The Dane, 36, birdied the par-5 last to finish on 11-under-par 277 for the tournament to clinch her first success on the tour since September 2005 - the year when she was Europe's No 1 having won three titles.
Tinning had already stated this would be her swansong event, and after holing the birdie putt she embraced husband Lasse.
"Me and my sports psychologist have been working hard to finish off this year on a high and I must say we really made it through and I'm so proud of us and the whole crew I have behind me. It's just amazing really," said Tinning.
South African Lee-Ann Pace secured the tour's Order of Merit title despite an 11-over 299 over the Majlis course at the Emirates Golf Club. Laura Davies needed to finish in the top two to unseat Pace at the top of the money list but finished in a tie for 19th. Davies' challenge was all but over after a three-over 75 on the first day.
Lynn Kenny finished as the leading Scot, with a closing 73 giving her a total of 297, one better than Pamela Feggans (76) and 13 shots fewer than Krystle Caithness, after she slumped to a final-round 84 for 310.
