THIRD Intention pulled off a shock when showing battling qualities that had been absent from his demeanour to overturn 1-2 shot Josses Hill in the Graduation Chase at Kempton yesterday.

Ridden with confidence by Daryl Jacob, the 7-1 winner attempted to make all, only to seem booked for third when gobbled up by Ceasar Milan and then Josses Hill early in the home straight. Ceasar Milan went four lengths clear but began to tire two fences out and was a spent force at the last, where Third Intention jumped slightly quicker than the favourite and kept on resolutely to score by three-quarters of a length.

Colin Tizzard is keen to point his winner at the Topham Trophy, with Cheltenham not a certain port of call ahead of Aintree.
