Changing Room Chat: Thomas in the ring for charity

CHELTENHAM Gold Cup-winning jockey Sam Thomas will headline a charity boxing event sponsored by equine insurers Markel at The Brewery, City of London, on 27 September.

Thomas, 28, who won the
Gold Cup on Denman in 2008 and will sport the great horse’s nickname of ‘The Tank’, will be raising money for the Injured Jockeys Fund and Barnardo’s. He said: “Markel has supported me through all the knocks I’ve had on the racecourse. I felt it was time to give a few knocks back by putting on the gloves for two very worthy charities.”
