Home carrot inspires Keith and Forres
WITH a home tie against East of Scotland League leaders Dalbeattie Star in the next round awaiting the winners, there's a big incentive for Highland League rivals Keith and Forres in today's replay.
Keith manager Martin Allan said: "It is a home tie for either Forres or ourselves, which is most important. We are obviously delighted with the draw as it gives us a good chance of going into the hat with the SPL teams in January, but there is still a long way to go before we can think of that."
The teams battled out a 1-1 draw in windy and wet conditions at Mosset Park last weekend, Forres perhaps creating the better chances. There will be several changes in personnel for both sides this afternoon.
Keith have home advantage this time round and are also boosted by the return after suspension of skipper Darren Still and striker Gary Nicol, although Michael Fyfe and Dean Donaldson are injured.
Forres manager Gordon Winton has major doubts over two key players, Nathan Sharp and Ryan Green, while captain Neil Whyte is unavailable.
Nevertheless, Winton believes his men can progress to the third round. "It'll be whoever wants it most on the day." he said. "I think after the draw on Monday both ourselves and Keith will be dying to go through because there's a great chance for the winning team to go even further."
