HOCKEY: Grange will extend their lead at the top of Aberdeen Asset Management Division 1 to six points if they can give champions Glynhill Kelburne their first defeat of the season at Bellahouston today, although the Paisley side have two games in hand.
Tomorrow it is Inverleith’s opportunity to unseat Kelburne, and today Inverleith have the chance to warm-up against lowly AAM Gordonians, while bottom side Watsonians are likely to struggle against Western Wildcats and Edinburgh University take on PSL Clydesdale.
Edinburgh University lie second in the women’s table five points behind Grove Menzieshill and three ahead of Milne Craig Western. Yet a couple of years ago, the students languished around the relegation zone. Today they face fourth-placed Cala Edinburgh, who have also had a good season, but lost 2-1 to Giffnock last Saturday.
Grange and Inverleith will have their work cut out to take anything from their games against Western and Dundee Wanderers respectively.
