Hockey: Hadfield expects busy day against Kelburne

SEAN HADFIELD was a virtual spectator last weekend as Grange swept minnows Greenock aside 8-0 in the last 32 of hockey’s Scottish Cup.

Tomorrow, but the talented teenage stopper could be a far busier man as the Edinburgh club aim to shoot down champions Kelburne in the league.

Hadfield expects a tough afternoon at Bellahouston as Grange bid to inflict a first domestic defeat on Kelburne this term. So far, the all-conquering Paisley side have won all seven of their league fixtures. Grange have 21 points from eight games, a record which includes one defeat.

Hadfield said: “In all honesty, a Scottish Cup fixture against a Division Three team was not the best way to prepare for Kelburne. However, we have to get on with it.”

Elsewhere, Hillhead, who are eighth with seven points, entertain third-place Grove Menzieshill.
