Hirvonen adds polish to his performance
MIKKO Hirvonen maintained his lead of Rally Poland yesterday to remain on course to take over at the top of the World Championships standings.
The BP Ford driver excelled on the fast-paced roads in Poland to extend his advantage over team-mate Jari-Matti Latvala to 12 seconds. With today the shortest day of driving – just 89km – Hirvonen is perfectly placed to claim maximum points and displace Sebastien Loeb, who is more than 19 minutes adrift after crashing on Friday, at the top of the drivers' standings.
