Highlanders armed and dangerous

THE sport’s armed forces side made their exhausting trip from their base in Germany worthwhile yesterday by recording the result of the day in the revamped Bullough Cup.

The Highlanders are a regimental side who have spent their one-hour breaks between military training on the continent practising their shinty drills. Yesterday it all paid off with a thumping 8-0 victory over Aberdour in the Bullough Cup and they will now go into today’s clash with London Camanachd at Musselburgh on a high.

Ally Macpherson was their hero with five goals. Alfie MacDonald, Peter Marshall and Colin Marshall hit the others.
