High hopes for St Johnstone's teen duo

ST JOHNSTONE boss Derek McInnes believes 17-year-old strikers Stevie May and Steven Reynolds have a big future at McDiarmid Park after the pair signed contract extensions through to 2012.

McInnes said: "We have high hopes for a few of the boys here. These two are both goalscorers."

Meanwhile, midfielder Martin Hardie will miss tomorrow's game against Hearts at Tynecastle after suffering a knee injury in a closed-doors game against Falkirk earlier in the week.

Hardie had scored but McInnes said: "It was a good work-out for a number of players on a very heavy pitch but Martin's injury has overshadowed what was a very worthwhile exercise.

"It could lead to Martin being out for a week or two."
